Country Life Weekend - Sunday 14th August

Once again Barn Owl Bill will be bringing his entire owl menagerie for a display at Dunscar Garden Centre - an event that was extremely popular last year, where families can learn about the owls and then meet them afterwards!  Radio Lancashire will be broadcasting from the event, and there will be a variety of activities arranged.

These are likely to include a butterfly hunt and wildlife drawing competition for kids, talks on bee keeping, the importance of bees to agriculture, honey and what to do with all the fruit you might have grown, including fruit preserving and jam making.

Free Gardening Talks and Demos - Every Saturday from the 23rd April - 28th May

Our knowledgeable plant advisor, Dan Connor, will be helping you make the most of the peak planting season by giving a series of FREE talks on some of the most important areas of gardening.  These sessions will run every Saturday on the plant area from 4pm to 4.30pm.  There is no need to book – just turn up.

Dunscar is Expanding!

The second phase of Dunscar's expansion is due for completion mid-March. With 40% more covered retail space, it will be possible to expand our ever increasing range of high quality products even further.

This will include a bigger gardening and "Grow Your Own" department, a huge selection of garden furniture and a greater choice of outdoor clothing and gifts. With ten new members of staff it really is a new look Dunscar.

The green, green shoots of recovery

As a former Royal Navy submariner who worked for the investment bank Goldman Sachs before joining his wife’s family’s garden centre business, Shaun Lewis probably has a wider perspective then most.

Paul Richards Appointed as Dunscar Garden Designer

Paul Richards has been appointed as an official partner to Dunscar Garden Centre for garden design.

Based in Lancashire, Paul Richards Garden Design has designed projects across the UK, ranging from small urban gardens to cottage courtyards, and city roof terraces to large country gardens. Paul has won Gold and Silver Gilt medals for his shows at the Southport Flower Show and also won the Student Garden Design Competition in 2006 when he graduated in Garden Paul Richards garden Design at DunscarDesign from Myerscough College.

Paul said: My philosophy is to work closely with every client to ensure that their newly designed garden is original and exciting, while fulfilling their desires and expectations. It's great to be working with Dunscar, which is at the heart of the local gardening community and I'm looking forward to meeting and working with customers from across the local area.
