We’ve booked Dunscar, our sponsored snowy owl to return to meet our customers on the Glorious Twelfth.   He will feature prominently with his friends from the Barn Owl Bill Trust on Sunday 12th August.  Volunteers from the Trust will give a presentation on owls and the work of the Trust to rescue them between 1pm and 4pm.  Children and parents alike can meet the birds and ask questions of their handlers between the scheduled talks, learning hands on about these majestic and yet endangered birds.  The event is free so please make donations to the Barn Owl Bill Trust. The Trust has been rescuing owls and other birds such as geese and pigeons since 1992, rehabilitating and releasing them wherever possible.  It is one of the few organizations in the UK that will rescue birds of prey, caring for those who are injured or disabled.  Bill has even converted his home and garden into a sanctuary, with over 90 resident birds at the last count in September 2011.
